Support Research
The South Carolina Joint Replacement Center is one of the national leading joint replacement centers that focus on achieving the best results for its patients with specializations in hip resurfacing, total hip replacement, and knee replacement. Dr. Thomas P. Gross is one of the pioneering surgeons to offer hip resurfacing arthroplasty in the United States and has contributed significantly to the development of the metal-on-metal hip resurfacing prostheses and procedure for more than a decade. Hip resurfacing alone has become particularly beneficial to young and active patients with the advantages of preservation of femoral bone stock, significantly reduced thigh pain, and the ability to help patients return to their normal, active lives. The success stories on our website indicate how important these surgeries have been in achieving a lifestyle that existed prior to pain and resulting loss of functionality.
The center continues to develop innovative techniques, including the pioneering of fully porous coated hip resurfacing which may last a life-time for patients, and innovating state-of-the-art hip resurfacing surgeries in an outpatient center in order to reach the best possible results. Every year, Dr. Thomas P. Gross donates a portion of his personal income to pursue this goal. However, this has become more and more costly as the center is not funded by any other sources. Any donation received will not only help support current research and continue to aid in developing the best technique for patients, but are also considered tax deductible or exempt under certain federal and state regulations. Your donation would be a tremendous effort on your part to help continue the research, development, and technique that affects many patients who will require a joint replacement in the future.
